My name is MondMadeIt, I'm a 18 year old Music Producer from Richmond, Va. I've worked with many artists such as my artist Truth Gunna & $poiledBrat. I also worked with Dopewell Khari, Otg Shawn, Gsambo & many more.
Q: How did you get your producer name?
A: I got my producer name from one of my friends at school. I had just started taking producing serious and he told me I needed a producer name. We sat down thinking of names and “MondMadeIt” clicked and gave me a feeling that the name would stick and will always be remembered.
Q: What was your first record placement?
A: My first Record Placement was Otg Shawn - Me vs Myself. I sold the beat for $20 and I that’s when I knew I should take this serious.
Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working in the music industry?
A: The biggest lesson i’ve was learn the business first before anything. You might have the talent and confident but you will run into problems with payments, people stealing your work, etc.
Q: Where are you from, and how did it mold you into the person you are today ?
A: I’m from Churchill, Richmond, Va. i grew up in the projects and everyday i saw crimes being made, i saw guns, i saw police chases and many more. Most of the people i grew up with is now in jail, dead or is on the block doing what they do. I always knew i was going to take a different route and make it out through either sports or music because i was always good at it.
Q: Who is your favorite artist to work with?
A: My favorite artist to work with is Truth Gunna & $poiledBrat because we’ve already built a sound and solid foundation and it made it easier to work with them. They are dope artists and I believe in them just as much as they believe in me and my beats.
Q: What DAW do you use, and what is your favorite plug-in?
A: I use FL Studio, i don’t have a favorite plug in because i mainly use one shot kits my fellow producer friends have made and sent to me. If i had to pick it would be FLEX or Analog Lab because of the piano sounds. Most of my beats are made with a piano as the main sound or background sound. It gives me a vibe that makes me want to go crazy on a the drums.
Q: What is your favorite record placement and why?
A: My favorite record placement is "$poiledBrat - Make His Pockets Hurt" because we were in my home studio when we came up with the concept of the song. I made the beat & the rest was history. The song is very slept on and could be so much bigger if the right ear hears it.
Q: What are somethings producers don't know that they should know?
A: Producers should know that it takes patience, hard work, networking and prayer in order to achieve your goals in the music business.
Q: What makes you a hot producer?
A: I’m a hot producer because I KNOW I will be a go to, highly recommended name for artists to turn to and other producers. My beats will give yu a vibe that makes you want to spazz and go crazy on a song. Whether it’s Pain, Trap or R&B. You will know MONDMADEIT Produced it.
