Paul Virga Emanuel known as “monstereal” is a 17 year old music producer from Romania who started his career in 2021. He produced for Toosii, MoneyMan, Big 30, Slimelife Shawty, Soldier Kidd, Raw Youngin, Nba Team Raptors etc.
Q: How did you get your producer name?
A: I was like 12 when i had this idea. I had just installed steam ( it was my gamer name at that moment) and i was searching for 2 words that end and start with the same letter. to be honest i am so proud of this name because it seems so unique to me now , also the very first version was monster canibal , then i changed it to monstereal. I want to keep this name beacause it means something to me, like it brings me back to the days when i was playing video games all day. When i started producing like seriously i added paul to it.
Q: What was your first record placement?
A: My first placement was a song with lil richie , it’s called “ya knew” and i produced it with jorj and miku. i was so glad because that was my first record placement in the us, then i got a placement with dex lauper literally the next day, that was almost 9 months ago and it’s still crazy for me how fast the time has passed .
Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working in the music industry?
A: I can’t say exactly what the most important lesson that i’ve learned so far is, but i think that the most important thing is being consistent, to keep working even if you don’t see results in the moment. at the same time not only the placements that you do matter, but also how much you better your sound, both things matter the same time in my opinion.
Q: Where are you from, and how did it mold you into the person you are today ?
A: I’m from romania, i’m not really proud of that, but i’m happy that i’ve managed to do something even if i’m from here. i think it doesn’t matter where you’re from, there are people who you send beats to, they use them and they don’t even know who you are. however i’m grateful that i started making music seriously with a romanian friend, i’m glad i met him and that he helped me grow and work more and more.
Q: Who is your favorite artist to work with?
A: There are many artists that i enjoy working with a lot but for sure the one i get along with the best is rnf deemoney, this year we have a mixtape that we’ll release together, we got too many hits otw
Q: What DAW do you use, and what is your favorite plug-in?
A: I use fl studio, my favorite plugins are kontakt, keyscape and xpand2
Q: What is your favorite record placement and why?
A: I have more than one, but my favorites are lil mexico 147 produced by caerus and i, the song with toosii produced by me, icyy and ant, an unreleased song with breezy produced by me ziad and dvosk, and the song with coldheartedsavage feat noodah produced by benzo and i.
Q: What are somethings producers don't know that they should know?
A: I think there are things that i still don’t know, but i think the most important thing that everyone should know is how to promote your brand, to create as many connections as you can and to learn how to network.
What makes you a hot producer?
I'm still trying to get that but i believe i have big potential to reach every goal i set and I', really trying to get my melody game to the next level because that's the first thing artists hear.
