Q: How did you get started in the music industry?

A: I started making beats 3 years ago, February 19th. Got the computer my mom had and downloaded FL Studio. I remember when I first started doing it, I fell in love with the craft of making beats.

Q: Where are you from, and how did it mold you into the person you are today?

A: Born and raised in San Diego, CA. The city molded me into who I was, the city culture, the sunny beach type of vibe. It put me in a position to understand that I'm blessed to be in a city like this. It's easy to be stuck in a city like this. Gotta thank the city but gotta explore the world.

Q: What was your first record placement?

A: Lil Durk Computer Murders, it's going big. It resonated. People liked it and turned up to it, especially at his live shows.

Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working in the music industry?

A: I think the biggest lesson I learned, and I've been tested with this lesson plenty of times. never lose faith. I believe a lot of people want it quick and they want it ASAP. They don't want to be tested for it and they don't want to wait for it. There are going to be times when everything doesn't work out. That's going to be the fork in the road, are you going to chase your dream? 100% man of faith and God is the reason I got here.

Q: What inspired your name, Trill Bans?

A: It wasn't a certain inspiration, I was with my boy in high school. After a break up I was with a friend and we had to get names. His name was going to be Lil Adrian. I wanted a name that was hard and you could see on the Billboard. I went to SoundCloud, I pick two rappers. The first one, first name, and the second one, that last name. I picked "Trill" from Trill Sammy" and Bans from "Yung Bans". Ever since then, that's the name. This was 2018.

Q: Who inspires you to make beats?

A: Metro Boomin and Murda Beatz, the biggest thing about them is how well known they are and how different their sounds are. Instead of selling beats for 50 or $100. They making beats for $50,000. That was inspirational to me.

Q: What makes you a hot producer?

A: I don't think I can believe in that title yet. I think that what makes me stand out is the combination of sounds that I can get to. I am not going to say I got my own sound. Each beat I make is not the same as every producer. I truly believe the reason I got here in my career is by the grace of God, I know it's unbelievable that the God I serve is why I am here. When they ask, "how you do it" I always tell them that I'm going to give God the credit.

Q: What advice can you give to other music producers?

A: My biggest advice in true all honesty, I am a big believer in the law of attraction. I am a big believer of faith. Work hard and network. You have to have this faith and vision for yourself. Don't ever give up. Anybody can make hard beats. It's not a real strategy to become a huge producer, gotta have faith. I hung up a custom platinum plaque that was a picture of me that my brother gave me. Now I'm ordering plaques.
