Q: How did you get your producer name?

A: My producer name on SoundCloud was “RaymondOnTheTrack”. I was 16 when I abbreviated the name because it was too long, and everyone just started calling me “Rott”. I decided to stick with it because it had a nice ring to it. Producers in my DMs would ask me could they change their name to look like mine, so that’s when I knew it was cool.

Q: What was your first record placement?

A: My first placement was “DTheFlyest Ft. Lil Baby - Fugazi” in 2018. I co-produced it with one of my great music friends I’ve known since 2015, Alecto. We posted it on YouTube and he told me he had a manager and knew some people. It wasn’t a smash hit, but it has over 30 million streams worldwide. That’s one of my most unique beats. For that to be my first placement is crazy, I’ve been trying to top it ever since.

Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working in the music industry?

A: The biggest lesson I learned: You have to find your own unique way of branding and networking. It doesn’t necessarily mean that everything you do has to be correct, you’re human. Getting noticed and putting yourself out there is very difficult.

Q: Where are you from, and how did it mold you into the person you are today ?

A: I’m from Detroit Michigan, but I grew up in almost every side of Detroit. I started at east, then north, and then Southwest every now and again, then the west. I had a big family but I always spent time in my Dad’s basement, which is typical for artists and musicians like myself. If I didn’t spend that much time working on my craft growing up I don’t know where I would be. People nowadays don’t really care about that stuff, they just care about who’s popping. I always did what I could, and used what I had. Barely had any privilege, I always felt locked in a cage. That’s what motivated me to keep going.

Q: Who is your favorite artist to work with?

A: Resoo is my favorite artist to work with. He’s definitely waiting on his turn, but i promise you, this kid is going to change the world with his music. We’ve been working since August 2020 and every song we have is a hit. In the past year we probably made like 4-5 albums just feeding each other ideas.

Q: What DAW do you use, and what is your favorite plug-in? A: FL Studio. Favorite plug-in is Serum

Q: What is your favorite record placement and why?

A: My favorite record placement is Love 4 The Night - Brandon Amato. I produced it with Spaceman. There are 2 beats in one, a Latin vibe and a club hit vibe, switches up throughout the song.

Q: What are somethings producers don't know that they should know?

A: I have some of the most loyal music friends by my side who support me through my ups and downs, I work with some of the biggest producers in the world who actually send collabs back. YoungKio is the perfect example of that. We don’t speak often, but our work ethic is mad crazy, I hope one of our hits from the vault release soon. There is still good people in the world. A lot of producers will get one hit and never speak to you again. I’d say I’m blessed. I would have quit music a long time ago. Just keep networking.

Q: What makes you a hot producer?

A: I’m one of the most unique and versatile producers on the planet. I feel like I can do anything. I don’t have any competition, I always felt like it was my own lane. I don’t do this to fit in, I do it because I know that I can achieve a better reality than my dream.
